[Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania] Grand Opening of a Zoom Dry Cleaning in Squirrel Hill
Councilman Corey O’Connor helped to celebrate Antoinette Rollins’ dream to be her own boss during the Grand Opening celebration on April 25th for the first Zoom Dry Cleaning franchise in Pittsburgh.
“When we moved to Pittsburgh, we couldn’t find a dry cleaner with value pricing and same day service. So, we thought that we would open a store that provided it,” said Mrs. Rollins. Since they used Zoom Dry Cleaning in other states they saw an opportunity to open one in Pittsburgh.
Zoom conveniently serves Squirrel Hill, Homestead and other surrounding communities with its location at 4638 Browns Hill Road Pittsburgh, PA (near the Homestead Hi-level Bridge) with free parking. They provide same-day service and have onsite alterations/tailoring needs with a changing room to examine their quality work before customers leave.
Kris Ramji, the company’s co-founder, stated, “We deliver the cleanest garments while bridging the gap between discount and quality. Our stores also maintain eco-sensible processes to minimize our global footprint.”
Zoom stores are built with an “open” concept allowing customers to see production taking place. They encourage customers to ask questions and learn/understand how dry cleaning works.
Their eco-friendly is a high efficiency process that reduces waste and cost. Major cost cutting, like keeping the process in-house to reduce pick-up and drop-off, saves both fuel and expenses. Every detail is considered from reusing coat hangers and using ultra-thin plastic to bag customers’ clothes. Then, they pass this cost-cutting to their customers.
Mrs. Rollins hands-on approach and hard work ethic means she likely to be there when customers drop of their garments. Open from 7am to 7pm Monday through Friday and from 8am to 5pm on Saturday is a long schedule is a grueling schedule.
However, Mrs. Rollins positive attitude, enthusiasm and great sense of humor makes her a pleasure to visits. She jokingly quotes her cousin Greg Wallace, “We’re like the modern day George and Louise Jefferson!” Given the growth of Zoom they have a good chance of “Moving on up.”
